"Pastora Helena's" field research focuses on immigrant mothers and children seeking asylum in the U.S. from the violence in their Central American homelands. Her unique arts-based research approach emerged from her art as pastoral care with detained migrant mothers and children as a ministry of presence for holistic healing from trauma.
